TechFlow news, April 15 — According to an official post, Bitcoin Thunderbolt officially launched on the mainnet on April 15, 2025. The project was developed by the Nubit team together with a group of Bitcoin OGs, miners, and early contributors, aiming to enhance Bitcoin network performance through base-layer upgrades.
According to the official introduction, Bitcoin Thunderbolt is built on two key technologies: UTXO bundling and OP_CAT, which can increase transaction speed up to 100 times the original rate. Users can now receive, send BTC, and bundle BTC assets via this network.
Currently, Bitcoin Thunderbolt's "Boosting Codes" are being released in limited quantities, primarily targeting early developers, active contributors, and Nubit partners, with a small number distributed via social media platform X and Discord.
