TechFlow, April 13 — Regarding the previous report that "on the evening of April 11, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that the U.S. has exempted certain goods from 'reciprocal tariffs,' with the federal government agreeing to waive such 'reciprocal tariffs' on electronic products including smartphones, computers, and chips. The exemption applies to electronics entering the United States after April 5, and previously paid 'reciprocal tariffs' may be refunded,"
Bloomberg reported that this measure could somewhat alleviate price pressures facing American consumers and benefit major electronics companies including Apple and Samsung Electronics.
Financial analyst Hussein Kubeisy noted that this marks a "complete 180-degree reversal" in the U.S. government's tariff policy.
