TechFlow news, April 8: Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman said on a social media platform, "It was unfair of me to criticize Lutnick. I don't believe he is pursuing his own interests." Yesterday, Ackman had attacked Lutnick for profiting by shorting the U.S. economy. Regarding this, he stated, "After our country and president have made significant economic progress, I feel deeply frustrated that what I consider a major policy mistake has occurred, and now progress is at risk again due to tariffs." Earlier, U.S. National Economic Council Director Hassett said Ackman should moderate his tariff rhetoric: "I urge everyone, especially Bill, to tone down the language a bit."
