TechFlow news, on April 2, according to Decrypt, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz formally introduced the "Facilitate Lower Atmospheric Released Emissions" (FLARE) Act on March 31, aiming to convert wasted natural gas—previously flared or emitted—into power for Bitcoin mining.
The bill would provide businesses with full tax deductions for equipment that captures wasted natural gas, while restricting participation in related activities by countries including China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia. Cruz stated that this initiative would not only improve energy market efficiency and strengthen grid resilience but also help position Texas as the "destination of choice for Bitcoin mining."
