TechFlow reports on March 28, according to CoinTelegraph, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz introduced the "Anti-Central Bank Digital Currency Surveillance State Act" on March 26, aiming to prohibit the Federal Reserve from providing central bank digital currency (CBDC) products or services to individuals in the United States.
The report states that this bill serves as a companion to the anti-CBDC legislation reintroduced by Minnesota Republican Representative Tom Emmer on March 6. Both bills clarify that the ban does not apply to open, permissionless, and private dollar-denominated currencies that "protect the privacy of U.S. coins and physical currency."
