TechFlow news, according to DL News, Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, believes that the U.S. establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve would be a "game changer," potentially triggering a global Bitcoin arms race.
Hougan predicts this move will prompt other countries to follow suit to avoid falling behind in the Bitcoin reserve race. Galaxy Digital forecasts that at least five nations will establish strategic Bitcoin reserves this year. Currently, El Salvador is the only sovereign nation holding a strategic Bitcoin reserve, while Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund is also acquiring Bitcoin.
Given Bitcoin's limited supply, Hougan said a global buying surge could drive its price even higher.
