TechFlow news, on March 5, according to Decrypt, Iris Ramaya Au, former girlfriend of cryptocurrency entrepreneur Adam Iza—nicknamed "The Godfather"—has agreed to plead guilty to charges of helping Iza launder money and failing to report over $2.6 million in illegal income, facing up to three years in prison.
Au admitted to not reporting more than $2.6 million in illicit proceeds to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) between 2020 and 2023. She used shell companies and illicit funds to maintain a lavish lifestyle for herself and Iza, including purchasing luxury vehicles, real estate, and cryptocurrency. According to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, Au now faces up to three years of federal imprisonment for aiding Iza in fraudulent activities.
