TechFlow news, on March 4, according to an official announcement from the Hyper Foundation, the Hyperliquid mainnet validator set will become fully permissionless following the next network upgrade. Similar to the testnet, the active set will consist of the top N validators ranked by staked amount. Initially, N will be set to 20 and will increase over time. Meanwhile, the Hyperliquid delegation program has officially launched. This initiative aims to enhance network security and decentralization, while supporting validators committed to developing the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
The Hyper Foundation reminds validators to fully understand the technical details and become familiar with the testnet before participating in the mainnet. It should be noted that the protocol will lock 10,000 HYPE of self-delegation for one year, and this lock-up period applies even if the validator is not part of the active set. Validators are strongly encouraged to review and apply for the delegation program prior to running a mainnet validator node.
