TechFlow news, March 3 — According to CoinDesk, bitcoin mining firm Core Scientific, Inc. (CORZ) announced the appointment of investment banking veteran Jim Nygaard as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective March 17. Nygaard brings nearly 30 years of financial experience, having previously worked at XMS Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley, with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and capital markets operations.
Adam Sullivan, CEO of Core Scientific, said: "Jim’s deep financial expertise and strategic thinking will play an important role as we continue scaling our operations and enhancing shareholder value." Current CFO Denise Sterling will remain with the company until May 1 to ensure a smooth transition. Sterling led the company through Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring and successfully raised over $1 billion in funding.
