TechFlow reports on March 1 that, according to an official statement, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, known for her crypto-friendly stance, criticized the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for approaching the Coinbase case with bias. She expressed her opposition to the action against Coinbase, voicing concerns that using enforcement tools to regulate the crypto industry could become part of a broader SEC strategy.
Currently, the SEC has engaged with the public through the establishment of a cryptocurrency task force to build a regulatory framework serving the American public. This new approach contributed to the dismissal of charges against Coinbase, although it does not indicate that the SEC will cease enforcement actions when deemed appropriate.
