TechFlow news: On February 21, according to the BNB Chain official blog, BNB Smart Chain will undergo a Pascal hard fork upgrade. The testnet implementation is scheduled for February 25, 2025, with the mainnet upgrade set for mid-March 2025.
This upgrade will enhance compatibility with Ethereum, primarily introducing two core features: native smart contract wallet support and security encryption upgrades. By integrating EIP-7702, it will enable functionalities such as multisignature support, spending limits, and batch transactions. Additionally, BEP-439 (EIP-2537) will be introduced to support BLS12-381 curve cryptographic operations.
The BNB Chain team stated that following the Pascal hard fork, two subsequent upgrades—Lorentz (April 2025) and Maxwell (June 2025)—will reduce block intervals to 1.5 seconds and 0.75 seconds, respectively.
