TechFlow news, February 20 — Despite intensifying competition, OpenAI continues to grow rapidly, according to CNBC. Brad Lightcap, OpenAI's Chief Operating Officer, said that as of this February, the company reached 400 million weekly active users, a 33% increase from 300 million in December. Lightcap noted that the growth is "natural" as ChatGPT becomes more useful and familiar to a broader population.
Lightcap added, "Overall, people genuinely want these tools and see real value in them." This effect has also extended to its expanding enterprise business. The company now has two million paid business users—roughly double the number from September. According to Lightcap, developer traffic has doubled over the past six months, while traffic for its "reasoning" model GPT-3 has grown fivefold.
