TechFlow news — On February 18, according to TASS, Aisen Nikolaev, chairman of the State Energy Commission of the Russian Republic, proposed a plan to establish dedicated power stations for cryptocurrency mining. These power stations would exclusively serve cryptocurrency miners and would not be connected to the public grid.
Nikolaev stated that the State Energy Commission is currently in discussions with the Ministry of Energy regarding cryptocurrency mining. He believes innovative solutions will emerge in the near future, enabling Moscow to develop its cryptocurrency mining industry while safeguarding public interests. It is reported that in some regions of Russia, electricity consumption for mining has already become "uncontrolled," leading to production shortages and affecting power supply quality for residents and businesses.
