TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, Hester Peirce, head of the SEC's cryptocurrency task force, said on February 11 that the SEC will not rush to set a digital asset regulatory agenda before the Senate confirms a new chair.
Trump has nominated former SEC commissioner Paul Atkins to serve as commissioner until June 2031. Currently, Mark Uyeda is serving as acting chair following Gary Gensler's departure. Notably, the SEC has recently requested extensions in two cryptocurrency enforcement cases, indicating the agency may be re-evaluating its regulatory framework.
