TechFlow news, February 8 — U.S. Newsmax and other media outlets reported that on the 7th, President Donald Trump told reporters he does not believe DeepSeek poses a threat to national security, adding that the United States could ultimately "benefit" from the AI innovations developed by this startup.
According to Newsmax, when asked whether he thought DeepSeek posed a national security threat, Trump replied, "No." "This is an evolving technology... In fact, I think—we will benefit from it," he said. He added, "The AI we're talking about will be far cheaper than people initially imagined. That's a good thing. I think this is a very positive development, not a negative one."
