TechFlow reported on February 5 that, according to Jinshi News, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched a new website for its Cryptocurrency Task Force. According to the webpage, the task force aims to clarify the application of federal securities laws in the crypto asset market and to develop practical policy measures that promote innovation while protecting investors.
The Cryptocurrency Task Force collaborates with commission staff and the public to help establish new approaches to regulating crypto assets. It will assist in defining clear regulatory boundaries, appropriately distinguishing between securities and non-securities, developing tailored disclosure frameworks, providing feasible registration pathways for crypto assets and market intermediaries, ensuring investors have access to information necessary for making investment decisions, and ensuring the prudent deployment of enforcement resources.
