TechFlow reports on January 31, according to Decrypt, Telegram game Farm Frens announced the postponement of its FREN token airdrop plan to February. Previously, Telegram and TON announced an exclusive partnership requiring all Telegram mini-apps with cryptocurrency features to migrate to the TON blockchain within 30 days.
The Farm Frens development team criticized the decision, stating it contradicts Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov's previous advocacy for decentralization and resistance against censorship, sarcastically referring to TON as "The Closed Network."
The project team stated they will continue staying on the Base network, plan to remove on-chain interaction features from the game, and launch their wallet as a standalone application. Eligible projects that agree to migrate could receive grants of up to $50,000.
