TechFlow reports that on January 27, according to Cointelegraph, Austrian crypto unicorn Bitpanda has obtained a MiCA license from Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), becoming the second crypto asset service provider (CASP) to receive this license. The license takes effect immediately, allowing Bitpanda to operate across all 27 EU member states.
Bitpanda CEO Eric Demuth emphasized that the EU should learn from the U.S. experience and strengthen enforcement of MiCA regulations to prevent non-compliant platforms from continuing operations. He noted that the U.S. is rapidly positioning itself as the global crypto hub, and the EU needs to take more proactive measures to maintain its competitive edge.
