TechFlow reported on January 21, according to Business Insider, that minutes after President Trump's inauguration, three organizations filed lawsuits in federal court alleging that Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) violated transparency requirements under a 1972 law.
All three lawsuits argue that DOGE should be considered a federal advisory committee. Under the 1972 FACA law at the core of the litigation, such committees must represent balanced viewpoints, hold all meetings publicly, and keep records of their proceedings.
