TechFlow news: On January 17, the Suzhou City Sucheng Court recently disclosed a cyber传销 case involving a fake cryptocurrency investment scheme. The criminal gang operated an online platform called "ACORNS," issuing "ACO" tokens with promises of high returns, requiring members to invest a minimum of 100 USDT.
The platform recruited over 3,000 members, forming a 33-tier hierarchical structure, and amassed nearly 3.16 million USDT in funds. The court sentenced the main defendants for organizing and leading pyramid scheme activities, handing down prison terms ranging from three years to five years and three months, along with fines between 100,000 and 170,000 RMB.
