TechFlow news, January 17 — Ethereum developer Eric.eth posted, "I've consistently expressed my view that Ethereum still needs an outstanding leader. Especially given the ever-changing competitive landscape of cryptocurrency, it's too early to adopt a subtractive, blurred approach to leadership."
"I've been clear that I'd much prefer Vitalik to continue serving as Ethereum's active leader, rather than gradually stepping into the background over the years. It was his genius and early leadership that brought us to where we are today."
"I strongly oppose statements like 'Ethereum doesn't need the Ethereum Foundation or a leader.' This is not only because seeking leadership is inherent to human nature, but also because the technology is still far too early in its development to take such an approach. The chain can be decentralized, but that doesn't mean leadership should be decentralized as well."
