TechFlow news, January 14 — According to Cryptonews, Indian Railways announced it will provide NFT-based train tickets for pilgrims traveling to the Maha Kumbh Mela. The event will leverage Polygon blockchain's speed and low transaction costs to ensure scalability and environmental sustainability. Tickets will be issued via the NFTrace platform, which focuses on traceability of real-world assets. Chaincode Consulting, in collaboration with IRCTC, aims to enhance global participation through digital experiences while celebrating India's cultural heritage.
Notably, India’s stance on cryptocurrency remains ambiguous, despite implementing strict crypto tax policies in 2022.
