TechFlow reports that on January 13, the SlowMist security team released an investigation confirming that the widely circulated chat screenshots related to the alleged fraud case involving actor Wang Xing were forged. The group name in the screenshot was "Fu Fu Dedicated Group, Buyer's Deposit 14,000 USDT," mentioning that Wang Xing had already boarded and requiring a guarantee fee of 14,000 USDT, along with a cryptocurrency address for collecting the deposit.
On-chain data shows that the TRON address in the screenshot has received a total of 2.22 million USDT since September 9, 2024, with a current balance of 91,000 USDT. This address has interacted with multiple malicious and medium-risk addresses, and notably, there was no record of the claimed 14,000 USDT transfer on the day Wang Xing went missing. Furthermore, the chat timestamp in the screenshot shows 02:46, while the image metadata indicates 19:46, a discrepancy that further confirms the information was fabricated.
