TechFlow reported on January 12 that Mempool data showed F2Pool mined a semi-empty block at Bitcoin block height 878,889, just 87 seconds after the previous block.
Mononautical, founder of Mempool, analyzed that all transactions included in this block were broadcast within the previous minute, indicating the block producer's node might have restarted without the mempool.dat file, or had not yet completed loading the file when requesting a block template.
The last similar incident occurred approximately five months ago at block height 855,363.
