TechFlow reported on January 10, according to CoinDesk, that sources revealed the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued a subpoena to Coinbase, requesting user data related to its prediction market platform Polymarket. Coinbase has warned certain users that it may need to share relevant information with regulators. This action comes amid ongoing legal disputes between the CFTC and prediction market platforms, following the agency's prior loss in a lawsuit against Kalshi over election contracts, which it is now appealing.
