TechFlow News, January 7 — According to The Washington Post, the judge overseeing President-elect Donald Trump's criminal hush money case rejected a request from Trump's lawyers to delay this week's sentencing while they appeal. In his ruling, New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan stated that Trump's arguments regarding presidential immunity were recycled from previously unsuccessful attempts and legally inappropriate. He affirmed that the sentencing will proceed as scheduled on Friday, January 10.
Earlier, Trump's legal team filed an appeal against the verdict in his "hush money" criminal case and requested the judge to postpone the sentencing set for this week, arguing that sentencing must be delayed during the appeal process.
