TechFlow reports, on December 30, according to CoinDesk, a recent report from security firm Kaspersky revealed a new scam targeting cryptocurrency thieves has become popular on YouTube. Scammers pose as novices and deliberately "accidentally" share wallet recovery phrases in the comment sections, luring others into attempting to steal the 8,000 USDT held in these wallets.
However, these wallets are actually multi-signature wallets. When thieves pay TRX as gas fees to attempt transfers, the TRX is automatically transferred to another wallet controlled by the scammers. Since blockchain gas fees typically cost less than $10, this scam primarily targets small-scale thieves rather than large-scale operations.
