TechFlow reported on December 29 that Joe Doll, General Counsel of Magic Eden, said in an interview that David Sacks, recently appointed as the "AI and crypto czar," has only two years until the 2026 U.S. midterm elections to advance pro-crypto policies. According to Doll, the threat of government gridlock could stifle regulation, and the current administration must push forward crypto-friendly policies while it still maintains control of both chambers of Congress.
"The majority in the House is extremely narrow and could easily flip, as it almost always does," Doll said. "So we could end up with a divided government, which would lock things down and freeze progress within two years. We have a 24-month window to get important things done."
