TechFlow reported on December 24 that, according to Cointelegraph, the Russian government has unveiled new regulations on cryptocurrency mining: starting January 1, 2025, 10 regions including Dagestan and Chechnya will be fully banned from cryptocurrency mining until March 15, 2031. At the same time, major mining areas such as Irkutsk will implement seasonal restrictions during winter peak electricity consumption periods, rather than the previously proposed blanket ban. This policy represents the implementation of Russia's cryptocurrency mining bills signed in August and October 2024.
