TechFlow reported on December 23 that Trump posted on Truth Social announcing former college football player Bo Hines will serve as Executive Director of the President's Digital Assets Advisory Council ("Crypto Council"). Hines previously received the Republican nomination for North Carolina's 13th Congressional District but lost to his Democratic opponent in the general election.
Trump wrote, "In this new role, Bo will work alongside David to foster innovation and growth in the digital asset space while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. Together, they will create an environment where this industry can thrive and continue to be a cornerstone of technological advancement in our nation." Hines received funding from a cryptocurrency-supporting PAC during his 2022 congressional campaign.
In addition, Trump appointed Stephen Miran as Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. Miran previously served as Senior Advisor for Economic Policy at the Treasury Department during Trump's first term.
