TechFlow news, on December 21, according to Fortune, insiders from the Trump administration transition team revealed that the scope of responsibilities for previously announced AI and cryptocurrency "czar" David Sacks has been reduced. Due to Sacks' unwillingness to step down from his venture capital firm Craft Ventures, his role will be adjusted from a leadership position to an advisory one, with actual policy implementation duties handed over to Michael Kratsios, former chief technology officer in the Trump administration and current executive at Scale AI.
Sacks is expected to serve as a "special government employee," a status that allows him to continue running his venture capital business, which manages over $3 billion in assets. Despite the reduced role, as a key supporter of Trump, Sacks is still anticipated to wield significant influence in shaping technology policy within the new administration.
