TechFlow reports on December 20 that Polygon has announced the official launch of the Agglayer v0.2 testnet, with plans to roll out the mainnet in early 2025. This version introduces, for the first time, a pessimistic proofs mechanism that enables cryptographic security by tracking cross-chain balances, allowing EVM chains built on different tech stacks to securely conduct transactions and message transfers. Although delayed from its original timeline, the team stated this extension is a necessary step to ensure the security of cross-chain interoperability.
