TechFlow news, December 20 — According to Wu Shuo's report, a BlackRock Bitcoin promotional video shared by MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor has sparked controversy due to its disclaimer. The fine print in the advertisement states, "There is no guarantee that the 21 million supply cap of Bitcoin cannot be changed," which triggered backlash within the community.
In response, Blockstream CEO Adam Back explained that this is merely a legal disclaimer driven by regulatory considerations, as changes to the supply cap are beyond BlackRock's control. Such legal disclaimers aim to mitigate potential litigation risks, since as an ETF issuer, BlackRock cannot fully control community-driven decisions.
