TechFlow news, December 18 — According to Cointelegraph, for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, Japanese-listed company Metaplanet expects to generate revenue of 890 million yen (approximately $5.8 million), up from 261 million yen in the previous fiscal year. The company forecasts an operating profit of 270 million yen, a significant improvement compared to last year's operating loss of 468 million yen.
Metaplanet stated that the majority of this revenue comes from selling Bitcoin put options, which contributed 520 million yen in income. In a statement, the company said: "Combined with strong performance from its hotel business, the company is on track to record consolidated operating profit for the first time since the 2017 fiscal year."
