TechFlow reported on December 11 that, according to Cointelegraph, U.S. District Judge John Koeltl of the Southern District of New York has approved a postponement of the sentencing hearing for former Celsius Chief Revenue Officer Roni Cohen-Pavon, which will now take place after the sentencing of former CEO Alex Mashinsky scheduled for April 2025.
Cohen-Pavon pleaded guilty in 2023 to four felony charges and is currently free to travel between Israel and New York under a $500,000 bail bond. Earlier, on December 3, Mashinsky agreed to a plea deal, admitting to misleading users about regulatory approvals and concealing CEL token transactions, agreeing to forfeit $48 million in illicit proceeds, and now faces up to 30 years in prison. Celsius has had its restructuring plan approved and is expected to begin distributing approximately $2 billion in assets to creditors starting in 2025.
