TechFlow News, December 3 — According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol delivered an emergency address from the Yongsan Presidential Office in Seoul on the 3rd, announcing the imposition of "emergency martial law" to safeguard the free constitutional order. Yoon stated that by implementing "emergency martial law," he aims to rebuild and defend the free Republic of Korea, preventing the nation from "entering a path toward national collapse."
"To this end, I will surely eliminate the masterminds and anti-state forces that have driven our country to the brink of ruin," he emphasized. To ensure that citizens' freedoms, safety, and the nation's sustainable development are not undermined by "the reckless actions of anti-state forces attempting to subvert the national system," and to pass down an intact nation to the next generation, the implementation of "emergency martial law" has become unavoidable.
Yoon said, "I will swiftly eradicate these anti-state forces and restore normal state operations. The imposition of martial law may cause inconvenience to the public, and I will strive to minimize such disruptions." He also asserted that enforcing martial law is an inevitable step to ensure the enduring development of the free Republic of Korea. The country’s foreign policy orientation—fulfilling responsibilities and contributing internationally—remains entirely unchanged. "I sincerely call upon the people once again to trust me. I believe only in the people, and I will devote myself entirely to defending the free Republic of Korea."
