TechFlow reported, citing Protos, that internet sensation Haliey Welch (also known as the "Hawk Tuah Girl") posted a video on social media thanking MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor for guiding her into cryptocurrency investing. The video was shared by Bitcoin podcast TFTC on X, sparking widespread discussion.
In the video, Welch said she has invested in cryptocurrencies such as DOGE and SOL. She currently has 190,000 followers on YouTube, 380,000 on X, and 120,000 on TikTok, and previously made an appearance at a Bitcoin 2024 conference event. The Bitcoin community has dubbed this phenomenon the "orange pill effect," a reference to the awakening metaphor from the movie *The Matrix*.
