TechFlow reported on November 11, citing Bloomberg and data from the Korea Securities Depository, that as of November 7, 2024, the total value of U.S. stocks held by South Korean retail investors surpassed $100 billion for the first time, reaching $101.4 billion—an increase of 64% compared to the full-year figure last year. This significant growth is primarily driven by heightened interest among South Korean retail investors in U.S. tech giants and leveraged funds. Meanwhile, South Korean individual investors are selling off domestic equities in large volumes, disposing of 4.4 trillion won (approximately $3.3 billion) worth of stocks on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) alone.
