TechFlow reported on November 5, according to CNN, that key "swing states" Arizona and Wisconsin opened voting at 8 a.m. Eastern Time (9 p.m. Beijing Time). Other states opening at the same time include Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and Texas. Among the seven swing states, only Nevada has not yet started voting.
There are slight variations in opening times across states: In Minnesota, precincts with fewer than 500 registered voters may open as late as 11 a.m. Eastern Time; in South Dakota, some polling stations in different time zones opened as early as 6 a.m. Eastern Time; North Dakota's polling stations open between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Eastern Time; in Texas, areas in the Central Time Zone open at 8 a.m. Eastern Time, while those in the Mountain Time Zone open at 9 a.m. Eastern Time.
