TechFlow reported, citing The Block, that according to a new filing in federal court, the U.S. government is negotiating with multiple political action committees (PACs) to recover up to $13.25 million in political donations contributed by former FTX executives. The government has requested an extension until January 15 to continue discussions with the PACs regarding the seizure of these funds. Most of these PACs are affiliated with the Democratic Party or support liberal causes.
According to data from OpenSecrets, these groups received approximately $13.25 million in donations from FTX's SBF or its former engineering head, Nishad Singh. Singh has been sentenced to three years of supervised release after agreeing to testify against SBF. Several politicians and PACs have already returned donations received from SBF.
