TechFlow news, November 1 — According to Fortune, blockchain-based content verification platform OpenOrigins announced a $4.5 million seed funding round led by Galaxy Interactive. The company has developed blockchain technology that enables real-time authentication of digital content such as photos and videos, and has already partnered with ITN, a leading media production company in the UK.
Manny Ahmed, founder of OpenOrigins and a PhD from Cambridge University, said the company's unique advantage lies in its ability to verify both real-time and historical content. The technology records content verification data on Hyperledger blockchain based on Ethereum, offering authenticity assurance for industries including news media, insurance companies, and online dating platforms.
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its commercial team and scale operations into India and the United States. Meanwhile, OpenOrigins will also launch a marketplace platform to enable news organizations to license their verified data for AI training purposes.
