TechFlow news, October 31 — According to The Block, crypto asset firm OpenEden has officially announced the termination of an executive suspected of drugging women in Hong Kong. The individual involved is Eugene Ng, co-founder of the company and also a founding partner at DWF Labs.
The incident dates back to the evening of October 24, when a woman named Hana disclosed on social media that while meeting with a senior executive from DWF Labs at a bar in Hong Kong, she was repeatedly drugged with unknown substances added into her drink by the man. Fortunately, staff members noticed the act and alerted her in time. Previous reports indicated that DWF Labs swiftly took action after the incident, placing the implicated partner on leave.
Notably, Eugene Ng previously served as Head of Business Development for Asia at Gemini and has extensive investments across the crypto industry. After the incident became public, his social media accounts were deactivated. OpenEden is currently still led by its other co-founder, Jeremy Ng, who serves as CEO.
