TechFlow news, on October 27, according to an official statement, Xiamen Sophgo Technology Co., Ltd. (Sophgo) denied having any direct or indirect business relationship with Huawei. The statement indicated that the U.S. Department of Commerce's investigation concerning TSMC's ties with Huawei is unrelated to Sophgo and its products. Sophgo emphasized strict compliance with relevant regulations, including U.S. export controls. Sophgo has submitted a detailed investigation report to TSMC, demonstrating that the company has no connection to the Huawei-related investigation. Additionally, Sophgo stated it reserves the right to take legal action against any individual or entity that damages the company's commercial reputation.
Earlier reports, according to The Information, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched an investigation into TSMC earlier this month to verify whether it supplied chips to Huawei. Subsequently, TSMC halted chip supplies to Sophgo, an AI firm linked to Bitmain.
