TechFlow news, October 26 — Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino took to social media once again to respond to a Wall Street Journal report claiming that the U.S. Department of the Treasury is considering imposing sanctions on Tether. He stated: "Tether regularly engages directly with law enforcement officials to help prevent rogue nations, terrorists, and criminals from abusing USDT. If Tether were under investigation as alleged by the Wall Street Journal, we would certainly be aware of it. Based on this, the allegations in the article are incorrect."
Earlier reports indicated that sources revealed the federal government is investigating whether cryptocurrency firm Tether may have violated sanctions and anti-money laundering regulations. The U.S. Department of the Treasury has considered imposing sanctions on Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT.
