TechFlow news, October 14 — According to Bloomberg, Vast Space, an aerospace startup founded by Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb, has unveiled plans for a successor to the International Space Station (ISS), joining companies such as Blue Origin, founded by Amazon's Jeff Bezos.
"Haven-2" will serve as a dedicated laboratory in low Earth orbit, enabling tourists to conduct microgravity research. It will also act as a destination for NASA and its international partners to send astronauts.
The company’s long-term vision is for the first module of "Haven-2" to launch and become fully operational by 2028—well before the ISS is retired and deorbited in 2031. "We’ve chosen this ambitious timeline and strategy as a way to disrupt the industry and win the race," said Max Haot, CEO of Vast.
