The round was backed by a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (a16z CSX), Foresight Ventures, SV Angel, Coinbase Ventures, SALT Fund, and Symbolic Capital. Additionally, prominent industry figures including former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan, NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin, and Polygon founder Sandeep Nailwal participated as angel investors.
OpenGradient is dedicated to accelerating the development of open-source artificial intelligence by democratizing model ownership, simplifying AI deployment, and ensuring broad access to cutting-edge AI technologies. The platform leverages an innovative multi-layered tech stack, including an EVM-compatible blockchain and a proprietary Heterogeneous AI Computing Architecture (HACA), aiming to deliver scalable on-chain AI computing power while ensuring verifiability, attribution, and security for AI deployment and hosting.
