TechFlow reports on October 8 that Circle, the issuer of USDC, announced officially that native USDC has launched on the Sui network. Sui thus becomes the first blockchain based on the Move language to support native USDC. This integration allows Sui users to directly access USDC—one of the most widely used stablecoins—as a native asset on the network, eliminating the added complexity and risks associated with cross-chain bridging. Jameel Khalfan, Head of Ecosystem Development at the Sui Foundation, said: "Integrating native USDC into Sui brings tremendous benefits to developers and users alike, unlocking infinite opportunities for the ecosystem."
Circle has also released a developer migration guide to assist in transitioning bridged USDC to native USDC. Numerous ecosystem applications are expected to support native USDC on Sui across sectors including DeFi, gaming, DePIN, and e-commerce, such as Cetus Protocol, Mysten Labs, Navi Protocol, and Sui Lend Protocol. Previous report, Coinbase has included USDC on the Sui chain in its listing roadmap.
