TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum community has released a new Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP), which developers claim will reduce Ethereum's block time by 33% and increase data capacity—boosting overall throughput by 50%.
EIP-7781, introduced by Illyriad Games co-founder Ben Adams on October 5, aims to shorten block intervals on the Ethereum network from the current 12 seconds to 8 seconds, increase latency for rollups, and expand blob capacity—the temporary data structures that help reduce fees on L2 networks.
In addition, the proposal seeks to distribute bandwidth usage over time, reducing peak bandwidth demands without increasing the size of individual blocks or the number of blobs.
