TechFlow news: According to TechCrunch, Elon Musk's AI startup xAI has recently moved into a new office in San Francisco's Mission District—occupying the same building as OpenAI's headquarters, where the latter had operated for many years.
Musk's lawyer recently claimed in a lawsuit that Musk originally leased the office while serving as an OpenAI employee and has been paying for it ever since. Reports indicate that Musk listed the building for sublease in August, while OpenAI relocated to a new office just four blocks away.
On Tuesday evening, xAI hosted an open house event at the new office, just hours after OpenAI concluded its developer day event. xAI employees told an attendee that they had only moved in on Monday but would still spend most of their time at xAI’s Palo Alto office.
Elon Musk recently stated he plans to move his companies from California to Texas, though xAI may be an exception.
