TechFlow News, September 25 — According to The Block, Warpcast, the client for decentralized social protocol Farcaster, has introduced a native way to develop applications called "mini apps." This toolkit system is similar to the existing Farcaster Frames feature, enabling developers to launch decentralized applications (dapps) directly within the social media feed.
Warpcast developer horsefacts explained on social media: "The mini app view is a full HTML/CSS/JS web page, so in some ways it's both simpler and more complex than launching a Frame. Simpler because you can use a fully interactive canvas and any web framework; more complex because it requires more setup compared to a simple image."
Dan Romero, co-founder of Farcaster, said that while mini apps are a Warpcast-specific feature, they "can run on any application built on Farcaster." Similar to Farcaster Frames, mini apps can be used for various activities such as minting NFTs, building games, and creating polls.
